Mr. Mohamed Ebrahim Mohamed, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) said the Bank is very keen on participating in business and economic conferences and events related to the Islamic banking industry, especially these that produce recommendations and results that benefit bankers and workers in this sector. 

The statement was made on the occasion of BisB’s participation and sponsorship of the Islamic Banking Conference organized by the Accounting & Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), which is held under the patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain during the period from 1 – 2nd December, 2010 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel’s Conference Centre. 

BisB Chief Executive Officer further said the Bank is proud of its support and participation in this prestigious Conference that brings under its umbrella numerous Islamic intellectuals who are experienced in the Islamic banking business to exchange views about the latest developments and information in Islamic banking and Sharia’a supervision throughout Islamic banking institutions all over the world. 

Meanwhile, Mr. Mohamed Ebrahim Mohamed praised the efforts made by AAOIFI in organizing such events and the vital role played for standardizing banking views and compiling Sharia’a opinions related to Islamic banking organizations. 

The Bank’s CEO added the Conference will discuss a number of vital topics such as governance requirements in Sharia’a Supervisory Boards, events of conflicts issued by Sharia’a Supervisory Boards, challenges on the capital markets, Islamic financial operations’ non-compliance with international business standards and such other major topics. 

Concluding Mr. Mohamed Ebrahim Mohamed stressed that the Bank would continue to support the Conference and to participate in it in the next few years. He urged all participants and members of the public to visit the BisB stand at the Conference Hall to have a closer look at the Bank’s business activities and products in addition to banking services provided to its customers.
