The IBAN number is not a new account number but is a special number for each payment transfer with banks.

You will find below an example of the IBAN:
If your Account No is: 200001111111
International Bank Account Number (IBAN) will be: BH 79 BIBB 00 200001111111
Bahrain Islamic Bank Swift Code (BIC): BIBBBHBM
You will have to use your International Bank Account Number for making the following local and international payment
- Receiving an electronic transfer from a bank inside or outside Bahrain.
- Sending an electronic transfer to a bank inside Bahrain.
- Sending an electronic transfer to a bank in a country that adopts the IBAN system and where - its use is compulsory.
* It is possible to use the IBAN number for making a transfer to a person in a country that adopts the IBAN system but its use is not compulsory.
