BisB Strategic Platinum Partner in the 17th World Islamic Banking Conference

Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) is set to become an active participant in the 17th World Islamic Banking Conference due to be held at the Gulf Hotel, Manama, from 22nd to 25th November, 2010. This year’s Conference, which will be held under the theme “Building a New Model of Growth in Islamic Banking the State of the New Financial Map of the World”, will be attended by more than 1,200 Islamic banking leaders and experts from 50 countries from around the world.
In a press statement, Mr. Mohamed Ebrahim Mohamed, BisB Chief Executive Officer said: “We are pleased to take part in sponsoring this major economic event that is considered as one of the major Islamic economic and banking forums to be held in the region. This event is indeed one of the most important sources of information relating to the latest World developments of banks in general and Islamic banking in particular.”
He added: “Our participation in such gatherings that bring together experienced professionals and bankers involved in the Islamic banking industry makes us always keen on building up and strengthening business relationships with our counterparts and to learn the latest developments and trends in this Islamic banking sector. BisB CEO said all the Conference’s topics will focus on how to build up a new model of Islamic banking, the world’s new financial map and the future perspective to be adopted by Islamic financial institutions in their efforts to enter the arena of competition strongly and successfully in the prevailing new business environment. It is expected that the discussions among the Conference delegates will lead to adopting the strategies that would rebuild the avenues of sustainable growth in the Islamic finance industry against the current world financial backdrop.

Among the speakers at the second panel session at the Conference will be Dr. Salahuddin Abdul Qadir Saeed, BisB Risk and Credit General Manager and his input will deal with building up the new model. This session will be on the second day of the Conference (23rd November, 2010) and will involve interaction with other specialists in dealing with the topics on the Conference’s agenda.
