BisB & AGU Embark on Implementation of Innovative Leadership Initiatives and Programmes

The mechanisms of implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last November between Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) and the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), were discussed in a meeting recently held between Mr. Ali Duaij, Senior Manager of Corporate Communications and Brand, and Dr. Afaf Bugawa, Director of Community Service and Continuous Education Centre. The MOU stipulates adopting and launching a set of initiatives and programmes aimed at exchanging expertise, programmes and knowledge between both parties, including preparing young leaders for the future, and enhancing the personal skills of the Bank’s employees and graduate students in various fields, such as innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership.
During the meeting, Mr. Duaij and Dr. Bugawa discussed the means necessary to activate cooperation by developing a strategic action plan to advance training and professional programmes, as well as exchanging expertise, conducting joint research and exchanging scientific training opportunities for post-graduate students.
Mr. Duaij asserted the significance and effectiveness of this partnership between BisB and AGU, and its key role in the continuity of educational initiatives that support innovation in education and the advancement of the Bank’s social responsibility programme “Jood”. He also underlined the impact of this cooperation in upgrading the various professional skills of future young leaders and entrepreneurs, especially in the field of scientific research.
Commenting further, Mr. Duaij said: “We are delighted with our partnership with AGU, considering its leading position as one of the prominent regional institutions in the field of higher education that annually graduate medical and post-graduates in various scientific disciplines. We are also pleased with the participation of our employees in this partnership by delivering a number of key courses at the University, allowing students to benefit from real-life experience of banks’ management and gaining knowledge about basic financial skills.”
For her part, Dr Bugawa noted to the importance of this partnership with BisB; the leading provider of Islamic digital banking services in the Kingdom of Bahrain. She further described the partnership as an ideal opportunity to enhance the preparation of the post-graduates studying in the Department of Technology and Innovation Management, by granting them real-life and practical experience across many departments of the Bank, leading to qualifying them to become administrative leaders in several disciplines and fields.”
