Jood Team at BisB Organized ‘Iftar on the Road’ Initiative

30-April-2022

Jood Team, the volunteering team at Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB), organized ‘Iftar on the Road’ initiative in the spirit of Ramadan. This comes in line with the Bank’s commitment towards the community and in effort to give back to its beloved country through encouraging the spirit of giving and embodying the generosity and social solidarity witnessed in the streets of Bahrain.

The Jood Team distributed iftar meals to people on the road packed in recyclable paper bags, ensuring to remain aligned with the Bank’s efforts to contribute to environmental sustainability.

More than 50 volunteers from the Jood Team and their family members distributed over 1,500 iftar meals to drivers at major traffic intersections across various governorates before the call to prayer at sunset, on Friday the 29th of April 2022, personifying the spirit of teamwork.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Hassan Jarrar, Chief Executive Officer at BisB, said, “We at BisB are pleased to be able to contribute in spreading the spirit of giving, even if with a simple act, in order to embody the culture of social solidarity that characterizes the Bahraini society through organizing the ‘Iftar on the Road’ initiative. We hope that we were able to draw a smile on the faces of fasting drivers after a long day of hard work and diligence, especially during this holy month – may Allah enable us to experience it and its blessings again in the years to come.”

The Jood Team was established in March 2019, consisting of BisB employees who aim to contribute to the community through several volunteering initiatives.
