BisB Gold Sponsor for AAOIFI’ 15th Annual Shari’ah Boards Conference

“Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) is keen to support different economic activities held in the Kingdom, and in particular Islamic banking conferences, due to their direct positive benefits to those working in the banking sector and the Kingdom’s economy in general”. said the Bank’s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Hassan Jarrar.

The statement was released on the occasion of the Bank’s announcement of its gold sponsorship of the 15th Shari’ah Boards Conference of Islamic financial institutions hosted by the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), which will be held on 12-13 April 2017 at the Diplomat Hotel in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The event will be held under the auspices of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) and organized by AAOIFI.

Commenting on this occasion, Mr. Hassan Jarrar said:” AAOIFI’s Shari’ah Boards Conference is considered one of the most important Islamic banking conferences, which bring together a prominent group of scholars and Fuqaha from different Arab and Islamic countries to benefit from their vast knowledge and long experience in this field. He praised the leading role undertaken by AAOIFI by organizing this prestigious event which always brings about expertise and benefits to those working in Islamic banking”.

BisB’s CEO said:” during the conference, participants will discuss a number of important topics, including: the regulatory and supervisory framework for the Islamic financial industry, the legal and jurisprudential form of the agreement, contract, memorandum of understanding, promise keeping, promise giving, undertaking and objectives and their role in contemporary Ijtihad (personal reasoning) in the Fiqh of financial Al Mu’amalat (jurisprudence of financial transactions), relationship between Fiqh and contemporary sciences, re-financing and its applications and external Shari’a audit, in addition to many other topics.

Concluding, Mr. Hassan Jarrar said: BisB will continue to support the conference and participate in it in the years to come.
