BisB Appoints a Senior Manager of Information Security

As part of its dedicated and ongoing efforts aimed at enriching its administrative team with qualified national and global expertise, Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) has recently announced the appointment of Mr. Mohamed Isa Hammad in the post of Senior Manager- Information Security with effect from 1st September 2016.
Mr. Hammad has a vast experience, which spans over 10 years in developing information security policies and related administrative procedures. Prior to joining BisB, Mr. Hammad assumed several posts in both public and private sectors, the latest of which was the Chief of Information Security at Information and e-Government Authority in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Mr. Hammad is a holder of Bachelor Degree in Business Information Systems from the University of Bahrain (UOB). He has also earned several professional certifications and qualifications, in addition to his membership in a number of global professional societies worldwide.
On this occasion, Mr. Hassan Jarrar, BisB CEO, added, "The addition of Mohammed to the Bisb team is yet another step towards recruiting and developing qualified Bahraini talent at the Bank. While the buzzword these days in our industry is cyber security, we are taking the security issue much further to include all sensitive information, especially data having to do with customer confidentiality inside and outside the Bank. We are in the process of launching an aggressive awareness and certification campaign among the staff at all levels to safeguard the Bank's as well as our customers' confidentially and privacy".
Mr. Jarra added: “The head of information security at Bisb will have a good amount of autonomy and freedom to ensure independence and objectivity in performing his role". We welcome Mohammed and wish him success” .
For his part, Mr. Hammad stated: “I really take great pride in joining the BisB team, and I look forward to joining hands with all members of BISB family to implement suitable controls to preserve the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our valuable information assets”, Mr. Hammad concluded.
