Bahrain Islamic Bank's Team 'Jood' Joins 'Forever Green' Initiative in a Joyful Celebration of World Children's Day

BisB Tree PlantingAs part of Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB)'s commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, the bank voluntary team 'Jood' actively took part in the third phase of 'Forever Green', an initiative organized by the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD).

The bank extended a special invitation to the Bahrain Down Syndrome Society to join this initiative as both teams planted 100 seedlings at Samaheej Park with the presence of Shaikha Maram Bint Isa Al-Khalifa, the Secretary-General of NIAD, BisB management and 20 children from the Bahrain Down Syndrome Society. This collaborative effort served as a celebration of World Children's Day while contributing to the 'Forever Green' initiative.

Mr. Yaser Alsharifi, Chief Executive Officer of BisB said: “For the third consecutive year, we actively participate in this initiative, as it aligns with our ESG objectives. Our ongoing commitment is to make a meaningful difference in the community by engaging in similar activities and initiatives that directly benefit the people of Bahrain.”

Development (NIAD)Isa Al-Khalifa, the Secretary-General of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), praised BisB’s effort in involving the bank’s employees and children with Down Syndrome in the national afforestation campaign. Shaikha Maram stated: “We welcome the participation of Bahrain Islamic Bank in the third phase of the national afforestation campaign (Forever Green), which reflects the collaboration between the private and public sectors to implement future plans aiming to achieve sustainability and expanding green areas through afforestation projects and preserving plant wealth and natural reserves.”

The 'Forever Green' initiative, launched in 2021 under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) and Chairperson of the Consultative Council of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), aims to expand green areas within the Kingdom through collaboration between the public and private sectors.
