Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB), the leading provider of innovative and simplified Islamic digital banking services in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has officially launched its summer internship program, welcoming 21 university and college students from accredited educational institutions across the Kingdom. This initiative reflects the Bank’s ongoing commitment to youth development and supporting future professionals with real-world experience in the banking sector.
The two-month on the job training program aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application by providing students with hands on experience and guidance from BisB representatives across various departments. Open to current students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds, the program offers an accessible and enriching opportunity to better understand the work environment and develop essential professional skills.
This initiative is part of BisB’s wider efforts to support national capacity building by empowering young talent and preparing them for future careers in Islamic banking and finance.
Ms. Afnan Saleh, Chief Human Resources Officer at Bahrain Islamic Bank, stated: “We are pleased to welcome a new group of students to our summer internship program, which reflects our continued investment in the next generation of talent. This program is more than just an internship, it’s a platform that gives students early exposure to the banking sector and helps them explore career paths while receiving mentorship and support from our team."
Throughout the internship, students will rotate across key departments including Retail Banking, Financial Control, Internal Audit, Marketing and Corporate Communications, IT, Corporate Banking and Risk Management, and others.
Over the past three years, BisB’s internship initiatives have delivered more than 35,000 training hours, strengthening the job readiness of Bahraini youth, and supporting national development goals.
This program remains a cornerstone of BisB’s human capital development agenda and corporate social responsibility, providing students with meaningful opportunities to gain experience, build skills, and grow into confident professionals. BisB remains committed to evolving and enhancing this initiative to keep pace with changing industry needs and help shape the future of Islamic Banking.
