The IBAN number is not a new account number but is a special number for each payment transfer with banks.

You will have to use your International Bank Account Number for making the following local and international payment

  • Receiving an electronic transfer from a bank inside or outside Bahrain.
  • Sending an electronic transfer to a bank inside Bahrain.
  • Sending an electronic transfer to a bank in a country that adopts the IBAN system and where - its use is compulsory.

* It is possible to use the IBAN number for making a transfer to a person in a country that adopts the IBAN system but its use is not compulsory.
